Jack O’Lanterns: To Carve Or Not?

Lets face it, not all of us are gifted with the ability to carve a pumpkin, nor do we want to pull the guts out. As much as we would like to be able to carve something spectacular, it just isn’t going to happen, so is it acceptable to paint a face on your pumpkin as opposed to carving?

If you’re someone like me with absolutely no artistic talent, you’re pretty much doomed either way, no matter what you do.  With that being said, you can still paint something pretty cute a heck of a lot easier than carving something and going completely wrong with it.  One wrong move and … oops, you’re done.  Mess up with paint, though, and you still have a bit of time to clean it up.

Sure carving is the more traditional way to go, but sometimes you just have to go another route, and you should never feel like you can’t.  We promise you, no pumpkin police will come to get you if you should.

What are some of your favorite ways to decorate a pumpkin?
